  • Today is (rainy) garden day.

The students are working on planting the seedlings that they have grown in the classroom into our school garden today. Because of the rain, we are not sure if all the students will get a chance to do this today and maybe some classes will have to be moved to tomorrow.

The 3KR class had their garden day last week. here some pictures.

  • Hearing and Vision Screening

Normally we have a hearing and vision screening for students every school year but because of covid that has not happened this year. However, the organization that does those tests will be coming to school Tuesday, May 25th for ONLY those students where parents or teachers have noticed a potential concern. If you think your child falls in this category please let the office know so we can add them to the list for testing.

  • ALL WEEK Nut Pass.

No more uniforms. This whole week is free nut pass.

  • Last day of school picnic

On Friday, May 28th we will have an outside picnic at 11.30 on the playground. Families are welcome to join, everyone bring their own lunch. (please don’t send microwave lunches with your kids). This is a great way for kids to say bye to the teachers for the summer and maybe for parents to exchange some phone numbers for summer playdates. Formal dismissal at 1 pm.

Miss Knight, who originally hails from northern Illinois, is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and has taught 6th grade through high school at Carney and Stephenson area schools respectively over the past six years. In addition to English Language Arts and History, Miss Knight will be adding Spanish language and Drama to our fall humanities course offering in our Junior High.
