Back to School

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

  • Volunteers Needed!

We currently have several volunteer opportunities available! Families can start getting in their hours for the 2023-2024 school year before it even starts! If you are interested in helping fill any of the following needs, please contact the office for more information.

As a reminder, all JPII volunteers are required to be VIRTUS certified. If you (or a family member) plan to volunteer this school year, please contact the coordinator (Mr. Muhs) at least 10 days prior to the event so that you are able to be certified. Instructions can also be found on the ‘Volunteer' tab of the JPII website.

  • Thank you

A huge THANK YOU to families who helped us out this last week raking mulch, organizing closets, cutting flyers/bulletin boarders in the office, putting the borders up on the office windows, installing flooring, getting ready for open house, etc! We appreciate you!

  • Preschool & Kindergarten Readiness Orientation

We will be holding an orientation for Preschool & Kindergarten Readiness families in the SJPII Gym on Monday, August 21st at 5:00 pm. Miss Jennie will go over the goals for both programs as well as common procedures (i.e. drop-off and pick-up). This is a great time to turn in any forms that you have not yet turned in, as well!
Grandparents, relatives, or other guardians who will be involved in school events, drop-off, pick-up, etc. are welcome to attend!

  • Limited Office Hours Tuesday, August 22nd

The office will be open limited hours — from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm — on Tuesday, August 22nd.

  • Open House/Supply Drop Off

We will have an Open House on Thursday, August 24th from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. This will be the designated supply-drop off time this year!

This is a great time to meet your teacher, find your classroom, drop off school supplies, & learn about the various things we offer at JPII, as well as how to get involved! Home & School will have several JPII apparel items available for cash & carry purchase at Open House.

Interested in volunteering at the event? Sign up here or let the office know!

There will also be an orientation presentation given in the gym at 5:30 pm that will cover volunteer obligations and opportunities, how to log your hours in Facts, Scrip, uniforms, JPII clubs, etc. If you are unable to make it, the presentation will be recorded and uploaded to the school website.

  • JPII Amazon Wishlists

Teachers often use their own money and resources to supplement materials provided by the school, therefore, Home & School has encouraged JPII faculty, staff, and clubs to set up wish lists on Amazon.  Each wish list includes items and supplies that will make a difference at the Academy.  Once an item is purchased, Amazon will ship the item directly to JPII.  The hope is that all teachers will be able to replenish supplies they use regularly, and also be able to offer fresh, new learning tools to their students. We invite each of you to check out the JPII wish lists here and grant a few wishes today! Thank you!

  • JPTuesday/Apparel Webstore

Remember, every Tuesday is “JPTuesday”, and students can wear their official JPII apparel to school. As a reminder, for those who wear their JPII apparel, Nut Pass rules apply. Orders will be processed on September 1st, and again on October 1st. On October 1st, the apparel store will close until next time, so make sure to stock up on your JPII apparel must-haves before then! JPTuesdays will be noted on the calendar so there is no conflict with other schedules that take precedence over “Nut Pass” (e.g. School Mass). Click here to check out the apparel webstore!

  • JPII is Bringing the Athletic Club Back!

The JPII Athletic club is back! We are hoping to introduce as many sports as we can for the students. This year, the JPII Athletic Club will be working hard to resurrect sports teams! We are starting off by offering sports for the younger JPII students, with two different groups. 3k through Kindergarten, Sports for Shorties, will introduce a new sport every 6 weeks. 1st through 3rd grade, Sports for Little Saints, will also introduce a new sport every 6 weeks, but with a little more advanced lessons. The first session will be co-ed flag football, starting mid-September! If there are any parents out there that would like to volunteer to help coach flag football or join the athletic club please reach out to Sarah Windbiel by email: sarahwindbiel1994@gmail.com or contact secretary@jpiicatholicacademy.org. More information about the Athletic Club and its offerings will be on the JPII website. We will also have a table at Open House. Watch the kid's folders during the first week of school for more information!
