Summer News #1

“HE RESTORES MY SOUL. HE LEADS ME IN PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE.”

PSALM 23:3

  • Welcome new families!

We hope you are all having a wonderful summer break!

During the school year, we send out weekly “NEWS YOU CAN USE” emails to keep our families updated on all school events. This is the main form of communication from school to families, so you are going to want to keep an eye out for these! If you have an active 3rd party in your family (like a grandparent) who likes to be informed/reminded about volunteer opportunities, days off of school, early release, non-uniform days, etc. we can add them to the mailing list so they also receive the weekly News You Can Use. Just email secretary@jpiicatholicacademy (or reply to this email) if there is someone who should be added to our distribution list!

  • Summer Office Hours

Summer office hours are Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Thursdays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. The office will be closed July 3rd-7th in observance of the 4th of July holiday. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

  • FACTS

We are excited to announce some great updates to the FACTS system. First off, you will no longer need to use 2 sign-ins; all of your family/student information and financial (tuition, payment) information will be in the same place, utilizing the same login!

It is recommended that you check your FACTS account to make sure it is up to date. Make sure your email account with FACTS is correct and the payment option is coming out of the correct account. Check your due date for your 1st payment so that you are prepared. Most accounts are due on the 15th of each month, and some start in July, so please double-check to make sure everything is correct! If you have any questions, please contact the office.

  • SCRIP Updates

The ‘new year’ for Scrip starts on June 30th, so any Scrip purchased going forward will count toward the 2023 - 2024 school year obligation. If you didn’t meet your $150 obligation for the 2022 - 2023 school year, you should have recently received an email notification with billing details. Payments can be made via Facts (preferred) or by cash/check during summer office hours. Payments for any outstanding Scrip obligations will be due on July 12th.

Please review the attached July calendar to see the due dates for Scrip orders and the fulfillment dates for orders during the month of July so you can get started on your Scrip obligation for the coming school year!

We are in need of volunteers to pick up Scrip on July 19th & August 30th. Please contact the office if you are able to help out on either of those dates!

Due to the potential sale of the business, we are no longer able to order Scrip for The Landing. We do, however, have some available to purchase in the office, but will not be able to restock once what we have on-hand runs out.

  • Volunteer Hours

Watch for an email regarding the volunteer hours obligation for the 2022 - 2023 school year. Because we switched over from logging hours via pen and paper to utilizing FACTs for logging volunteer hours in the middle of the school year, it is possible some hours may be missing in our system! If you receive an email stating you have not met your 2022 - 2023 volunteer hour obligation, please double check your FACTs account to verify all of the volunteer hours for your family got logged. If there are hours missing, please follow the steps below to log your volunteer hours in FACTs.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the office.

Per the Obligation Agreement Contract, the buy-out rate for volunteer hours is $20 per hour. If applicable, this will be billed to your FACTs account, with payment due on July 12th, 2023.

  • Home & School

JPII Home and School Association will be selling popcorn, water, and balloons before the Logging Festival Parade on July 9th at 10:30 am along the parade route. Wear your JPII apparel to the parade and receive $2 off of a Yo-Yo balloon!

  • Garden Club

Our garden is growing nicely thanks to all of the volunteers’ hard work. Raspberries should be appearing soon; stop by and enjoy them! If you’d like to volunteer in the garden, feel free to come and go as you please, or if you’d like to join the garden club, please contact the office.

  • Building & Grounds

Building and Grounds hosted a School Closet Cleanout in June. In addition to fundraising, they were able to find new homes for many things that were taking up precious closet space throughout the school. Thank you to everyone who helped - the reclaimed closet space is valuable beyond words and your efforts are very much appreciated!

  • 52 Club

The 52 Club is a raffle in which three drawings are held every week for 52 weeks. There is a weekly $100 winner, $25 winner, and $10 winner. After drawing the winning tickets, they are placed back in the drum for the next week’s drawings. Thus, the previous winners can win again and again on the same ticket!

Winner’s names are posted to our website via News You Can Use, as well as in the three parish bulletins. Checks are mailed to the winners.

This fundraiser is held to keep tuition costs down.

Since we do not have a weekly newsletter during the summer months, here is a list of the 52 Club winners in the month of June:
