Book Fair
The Book Fair will be here next week: Tuesday, October 17th - Thursday, October 19th.
Mrs. Mielke is in need of some help to make it a huge success! If you are able to help, you can sign up here, or email Mrs. Mielke.
Dress-up day for the book fair will be Wednesday, October 18th and the theme will be Read My Shirt. To participate in this nonuniform day, you must wear a shirt that has words on it. The shirt must be school-appropriate, and follow regular non-uniform guidelines.
4K Picture Day/K-8 Picture Retakes
4K Picture Day/K-8 Picture Retakes will be on Wednesday, October 18th. Students participating in Picture Retakes may wear non-uniform.
Order forms went home last week, and are due on Picture Day. Cash or checks made out to Melissa Kowalski Photography are accepted! Please contact the office if you have questions.
JPII Field Trips
We have a couple more field trips this week! If you haven’t already, please make sure to complete the electronic permission form allowing your student to attend!
Wednesday, October 18th Kindergarten - 8th Grade will be going on a field trip to attend the World Fest Concert, featuring Okaidja Afroso, an artist from Ghana who has relocated to the United States (Oregon). He sings in his native language but his explanations will be in English.
Thursday, October 19th 2nd grade will be doing their deposit day at Nicolet Bank as a part of the Future Fund program.
JPII Fall Festival
Home & School Association is excited to bring back our Fall Festival this year including live music, children’s activities, festive food, and a craft/vendor show. The festival will be TOMORROW Sunday, October 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the school gym. Free entry to the event; concessions with delicious soups and a bake sale will be available to purchase.
Baked Goods Needed: We need your help making items for our Fall Festival Bake Sale! Please drop off donations of baked goods at the school gym on Saturday, October 14th at 1:00 PM.

JPII Athletics Night At Hometown Family Restaurant
Eat at Hometown Family Restaurant and help raise money for Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy Athletics Club! A percentage of the funds will be donated to the Athletics Club! Come show your support for sports on October 18th, from 4 pm to 8 pm!
Remember, we have Scrip for Hometown, too!! Hometown Scrip gives you a 10% rebate toward your Scrip obligation, and we have extra in the office this week!
Drama Club Update
The first Drama Club meeting for the school year will be right after school on Monday, October 23rd; parents of students interested in participating should plan to attend this meeting. Watch for more information and a sign-up sheet to come home next week.
School Council Meeting
There will be a School Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 17th at 6:00 pm in the JPII Library.
Having a Ball
The kids had a great time playing soccer with Father Abraham at lunch recess this week!
Open Gym
JPII families who have taken advantage of Open Gym have had a blast! Come out for a fun (free!) family activity on Friday nights from 5 pm-7 p.m. There is even a concession stand with a variety of snacks and drinks for the kids to enjoy. Check out some fun from the last 2 nights of Open Gym!
A friendly reminder, JPII students from 3k through 3rd grade must have a parent/guardian stay with them. 4th through 8th grade JPII students are allowed to be dropped off without a parent/guardian. There will be 2 volunteers during open gym at all times to supervise.

Fire Department Field Trips
This week our KR4, Kindergarten, First and second grades went on field trips to the Menominee Fire Department. Thank you to the Fire Department for having us, and teaching the students all about fire safety!

Junior High Pumpkin Picking
Thank you to the Junior High students who went and picked pumpkins this week for the Fall Festival!
Moana Junior Play
JPII K-8 students got to go to the UW Marinette Theatre on the Bay to watch a performance of Moana Junior this week.
Garden Club wreath Sale
The Garden Club is holding a wreath sale now through October 27th. Order forms were sent home with students last week. Cash and checks made out to JPII are accepted. If needed, there are more forms in the office, and a printable version is available here. Wreaths can also be ordered on the JPII website, and paid for by credit/debit card.
