WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 28: FREE EXTINGUISHERS FOR ALL

Fire Prevention Events

October is Fire Prevention Awareness Month and Johnson Controls, Inc. would like to donate a fire extinguisher to each child enrolled in local area schools including Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy.

The extinguishers, packed securely in individual boxes, will be distributed at dismissal on Wednesday, October 7th to students being picked up by an adult.  Parents and guardians of students walking home, taking the bus, or studying from home can pick up their extinguisher at the academy office before 3:30 PM on Wednesday or Thursday, or by later appointment.

On January 17, 2020, a house fire in Oconto, WI claimed the lives of the DeCoursin Family, along with their family pet Hagrid.   The fire extinguishers are being donated on behalf of the DeCoursin family with the hope that we can create a greater awareness of the importance of Fire Prevention, and ultimately, assist in reducing the risk that another family has to go through an event like this again.

No School Next Friday

Reminder there is no school next Friday due to a professional development day for JP2 staff.

Bookmobile Arrives Tuesday

We will be visited by the Menominee County Library Bookmobile on Tuesday. Students will be able to check out books with their classmates from the public library. These will then be returned on the next Bookmobile visit — which, during a normal school year, is typically on a monthly basis.
