Week of September 11th

  • Off to a Great Start!

The year has only just begun, and we are off to a great start! Here are just a few pictures of what we’ve been up to!

  • Pizza Lunch & NUT Pass

As a reminder, we have pizza lunch and a NUT pass on Wednesday, September 13th.

  • Early Release

Friday, September 15th we will have early release. We still have lunch together, so still send lunch with your child, please. Dismissal will be at 11:40 a.m.

  • Welcome Mr. Farr

  • Uniform Check

The new school year brings some new uniform guidelines. Our updated handbook, as well as uniform guidelines with graphics, are available on the JPII website under the Parent Resources tab! We ask that parents check over uniforms before sending kids to school. In the second half of last year, we saw some stretching of the rules and are hoping to correct that right from the start of the year. Here are a couple of pointers:

    • Shirts should be tucked in.

    • Hoodies are for outside. If the student wants a sweater inside it needs to be uniform approved.

    • Leggings aren’t considered pants. Leggings can be worn underneath skirts/jumpers, but not on their own.

If a student’s uniform is not up to code, the JPII Uniform Closet has extra uniform clothes available for the student to change into.

If you are in need of uniform clothing for your child, all families are welcome to ‘shop’ at our free Uniform Closet during office hours!

Junior High students are able to change for gym class (Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays). Please ensure they are following the Gym Uniform guidelines. If you have questions, please contact the office or your child’s teacher.

  • Home and School Meeting

Our home and school meeting will be held on Thursday, September 14th, at 3:15 PM in the School Library.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend – remember meetings count towards your volunteer hours!

  • Calling all Bakers

Home & School Association is excited to host a bake sale at the Giant Pumpkin Festival being held on Saturday, September 23rd at the Menominee Marina, but we need your help making items to sell at our sale!  Please drop off donations of baked goods at the office on Friday, September 22nd. Remember, baking counts for your volunteer hours too!  Interested in volunteering at the event?  Sign up here: https://signup.com/go/ocZomty or let the office know!

  • Open Gym

The Athletic Club will be starting Open Gym for all students, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday for the rest of the school year, starting in October. Students in 3rd grade and under need to have a parent with during open gym. Students in 4th - 8th grades do not.  We need at least 2 volunteers for every Friday to supervise; this can be logged in Facts and will go towards your volunteer hours for the school year. Please click here to sign up.

  • Color Run

The Athletics Club will be hosting a Color Run on Sunday, September 24th, starting at 10:00 a.m.

You can still register to participate until next Friday, September 15th at the JPII office.

We are in need of some volunteers for set up, during the event, and clean up. If you are able to help out, please click here to sign up. You do need to be Virtus Certified to volunteer, and volunteer hours logged in Facts will count toward your obligation for the school year!

  • 52 Club

Our year-long 52 Club fundraiser from last school year is coming to an end so we are preparing for this school year’s 52 Club, starting this October. The 52 Club is a raffle in which three drawings are held every week for 52 weeks. There is a weekly $100 winner, $25 winner, and $10 winner. After determining the winners, the three winning tickets are placed back in the drum for the next week’s drawings. Thus, the previous winners can win again and again on the same ticket.

On Monday, September 11th, after school, we will be stuffing envelopes for the 52 Club fundraiser to be sent out to our supporting churches. Come and join us, the more people the sooner we get done!

Early next week, you will receive a letter explaining what 52 Club is, this school year’s new 52 Club tickets, and a return envelope for the tickets and money. This will be sent home with your oldest child. As always, more tickets are available at the office.
