  • Home & School Meeting

Home & School (SJPII version of PTO) will have a meeting this Thursday, January 12th at 3:15 PM in the School Library.  Please remember these meetings count towards volunteer hours and NUT passes (non-uniform passes) are given to parents who attend, one for each child so they will benefit from you attending meetings!

  • Home & School Committees

As we all know, there is a lot of planning and volunteering that goes into making our Home & School events happen successfully.  Without your commitment and support, we don’t have the capacity to keep these wonderful events for our children.  We are asking for you to consider signing up for a committee within our Home & School Organization, even if you aren’t able to attend the monthly meeting.  Please review the attached list of Committees to help choose what most interests you and sign up here!

  • Cookies and Crafts

Thank you to all that attended, volunteered, and donated to our Cookies & Crafts with Santa event in December.  It was a night filled with laughter and Christmas cheer!  Santa even sent us a message on the event saying, “It gave Santa a great feeling with how the kids used their manners.  Cheers to the parents and school team.  What a great feeling!”.  Special thanks to Melissa Kowalski Photography for capturing the Santa photos which can be viewed here.

  • 52 Club

  • Drama Club

Dear Families of St. John Paul II Catholic Academy,

As some of you know, last year we started a drama class in Junior High. We worked hard to produce the play “Hoodie” throughout the 21/22 school year.  This year, we are hoping to start an after-school Drama Club for all students in grades 3 through 8.

Any student who would like to participate should plan to be at two out of the three after-school meetings. We are hoping to produce a version of “The Wizard of Oz” this year! Seeing as the Drama Club program is new, we will need your help to make it a success. We will need 3 to 4 parent volunteers to be “co-directors”. These “co-directors” would need to attend 2 out of the 3 Drama Club meetings each week, and help students during Drama Club meetings rehearse their lines, organize stage props/costumes, and clean/organize the stage.

Students in Drama Club will have the opportunity to be on stage in the production or be in a stage crew working backstage. The different stage crews are props, costumes, set designers and movers, and sound. Each “co-director” will be in charge of one of the stage crews. If a student is on stage in the cast of the production, he or she will be responsible for memorizing his/her lines.

We are planning on having the Drama club meet from 3:00 - 4:00 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week. At these meetings, we would be going over different topics to prepare us for our production. Some topics we’ll go over in the first two weeks are voice projection, stage direction, costumes and props, and makeup application.

If you are interested in being a parent volunteer OR your son/daughter is interested in joining Drama Club, please fill out the attached form and return it by Wednesday, January 11th.

Our first Drama Club meeting will be Wednesday, January 18th.

Please email Miss Knight at dknight@jpiicatholicacademy.org with any questions,

Print drama club participation letter and sign up
